Christine
Vasan - Bio Christine seeks to create work that has a connection to the natural world. A piece may be molded from an actual pod such as in the Anise series, or have a floral motif as seen in the Textile series. Christine uses mixtures of rough cut and laser cut beads and stones, a vibrant color palette, and tactile forms with smooth burnished surfaces. It is not unusual for her to combine precious metals and semi-precious stones if it suits the mood of a particular piece. All of Christine's collections share a similar unconventional spirit, and are designed to be mixed and matched to suit your mood. Christine has a Masters of Fine Arts from SUNY New Paltz, and over 17 years of experience making jewelry. In addition to creating jewelry, Christine has made custom metalwork for world renowned museums such as the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. Christine draws on her creative energy and experience to create keepsake pieces to be added to your jewelry collection.
